FC Basel and Loris Schreiber are parting ways. The defender is joining FC Wil on a permanent deal until summer 2029. Loris Schreiber had been on loan to the Challenge League side since March 2025 and played 26 games for Wil last season. However, the 20-year-old left-back was unable to break into the first team at FC Basel. FC Wil's sporting director Michael Lang says of the former Swiss U20 international: «We are convinced of his potential. He fits in perfectly with our way of playing, both sportingly and personally.» Loris Schreiber will now play for FC Wil in the future. The transfer is a great opportunity for the young defender to develop at Wil. FC Basel will now have to look for a new left-back. Finding a suitable player will not be easy. FC Basel has had some good left-backs in the past. The club hopes that the new player will quickly settle in and play an important role in the team. Loris Schreiber will be missed at FC Basel, but the club is confident that the new player will be a good alternative.
