Basel's title hopes burn bright - YB shines in the Super League
Basel's title hopes are burning bright, as YB shines in the Super League. While FC Basel battles for the title, YB seems to have found its old strength. Offensively, YB impressed with ten goals, and the defense looks much stronger than last season.
Koller is what FCZ needed
FC Zürich's last years didn't go according to plan, and there were some coach changes in the Limmatstadt. Now, GC legend Marcel Koller is on the sidelines, and this is already showing its effect. The Zürchers look much more organized on the pitch than last season, and there's a better plan in sight.
Not the same team - and still good
We're not the same team anymore, said Thun President Andres Gerber in the pause of the derby against YB at Blue. Not only key players like Franz-Ethan Meichtry, Elmin Rastoder, or Captain Leonardo Bertone have left the club after the sensational title, but also coach Mauro Lustrinelli. Due to the departures and the double burden, Gerber wasn't surprised that the Thuners were already 0:3 down in the first half. In the end, YB won 6:0.
Simoni is the key to success
The 65-year-old sees still potential for improvement, but after the loss in St.Gallen, he had praise for his team: «The players have played and fought together and supported each other.» With Koller, a place in the Championship Group for FCZ might be within reach again.
