A shaky recent run
Basel currently sit 5th in the Super League on our standings page, with 10 points from 7 games and eight points behind leaders FC Lugano, after a 1:3 home defeat to FC Lugano on 6 September and a 1:2 loss to FC Sion three days earlier. In that Lugano game, Abemly Meto Silu Metinho put Basel ahead in the 47th minute with an assist from Asane Sow, before Yanis Cimignani (59'), Uran Bislimi (61') and Ahmed Kendouci (81') turned the result around. Before that, Basel had drawn 3:3 away at BSC Young Boys and won 2:1 at FC Zurich.
Luzern in steadier shape
FC Luzern arrive with fewer worries, having drawn 1:1 at Servette, beaten Lausanne 1:0 at home, won 3:0 away at Buochs and drawn 2:2 at FC St. Gallen. Their only blemish in that run was a 0:3 defeat away to FC Sion.

In their last starting eleven against Lugano, Basel lined up in a 4-3-3 with Omlin in goal, Tsunemoto, Daniliuc, Victory and Vouilloz across the back, Harder, Omeragic and Thorell in midfield, and Sow, Celar and Olaigbe up front.
